The Eye of Minds is an average book that is not one of the best books that James Dashner has made. The plot had a lot of potential but the story was not as interesting as the blurb made it out to be. The setting and description however carry this book to above readability.
The negatives about this book are the excessive amounts of boring chapters. The characters are also not relatable and have little personality. The book can also be confusing at points.
A few positives of the book are the very descriptive word choices that the writer chooses to implement. It really paints a picture on what the writer was trying to accomplish with this book. Another positive would be the setting because of its rich environment that can be subjected to change, you never know what will happen.
I do not have a favorite character in this book because I do not think that any of these characters have an interesting personality. Even with the altogether terrible characters and pace at which the story goes. It is an interesting read and some story elements pay off in later parts of the series.
I rate this book a 3 out of 5 for all the reasons discussed above.
