The novel, Coraline by Neil Gaiman was an overall good book. I say the book was good because there were many things about it that made the book enjoyable. In my opinion the book was a suspenseful read. I was always excited to sit down and just read as the story was very engaging. One of the many things that made me continue reading was the cat, a reappearing side-character throughout the whole book. I was pleased whenever I had seen him. Regarding the length of the novel, I think that it was the perfect size for the story. I feel this way because while the author went into detail it did not do it to the point where it messed with the plot. The novel was pretty fast-paced but was very understandable and easy to read. On a different note, the characters were very relatable at least in my opinion. I had been able to feel the emotions they were feeling, and sometimes felt as if I was right there next to them. In conclusion, I personally found this book a great read and would definitely recommend this book to others.
