This book is about a teenager named Adam and his family who suffer financially when an alien species called the Vuvv take over Earth’s jobs. When the Vuvv arrive, his dad leaves to seek a job to support him and his mom. They try to make money by renting out part of the house and creating a fake relationship to entertain Vuvv, a sort of Youtube platform. I would rate this book an 8/10 because I like the characters and how the author describes the environment and how they take over. I also like how the author describes the main problem of the characters, but I think he should have explored how the Vuvv affects Earth and its inhabitants. He could have also showed the other characters’ perspectives. I would recommend Landscape with Invisible Hand to people because, in my opinion, it was an easy read, has an interesting plot, and shows the main theme and point of the book. One of my main problems with the book was the excessive use of crude language. I thought it was used too often and was overall unnecessary, but I was always intrigued and never dozed off while reading. Overall, I like Landscape with Invisible Hand by M. T. Anderson.
