Exposed by Kimberly Marcus

I’ve just finished the book Exposed, and there are quite a few things about the book worth mentioning.  Exposed is a book about a sixteen-year-old girl named Liz who has a passion for taking photographs, and plans to make photography her career.  Liz gets into a fight with her best friend, Kate, during a sleepover, resulting in Kate being left downstairs when Liz went upstairs to cool off.  While Kate is left alone, something happens that I can’t describe in order to avoid spoilers.  This event is so outrageous that Liz and Kate’s friendship ends.  From there, everything goes downhill- Liz loses everything from her boyfriend to her will to take pictures.  What will she do?  Will things ever get better for her? This book is actually very engrossing, and should hook you.  However, the book’s short length detracts from this value.  I did enjoy this book because it was very realistic and had me on the edge of my seat once it got into the good stuff.  Although I don’t want to give too much information, this is definitely worth a read if you’re looking for a quick, enjoyable, suspenseful teen read.

My rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
