How to Save a Life by Sara Zarr

How To Save A Life by Sara Zarr is a book about 2 different girls who get incorporated into each others lifes. Mandy, one of the protagonists, is from a poor town who’s mother did not love her. She got pregnant and got kicked out of her house. She contacted Robin, Jill’s mom because she wanted to adopt a baby. Robin invited Mandy into her house not knowing who the father was or how troubled she really was. Jill was not accepting of this; she rejected Mandy from the beginning. Mac, Jill’s father and Robin’s husband passed away and left them both wanting to fill the space in. Jill didn’t know how to do this but Robin knew she wanted a baby. Through out this book feelings change and faith takes it’s course on both girls. My favorite character was Ravi, one of Jill’s friends who she runs into at the store she works. They both have feelings that make their lifes miserable and amazing at the same time. I would give this book a 3 out of 5, it started off very confusing switching back and forth between both chatacters. But it’s a really good book about love, lust, jealousy, tragedy, and miracles.
