Music was IT by Susan Goldman Rubin

This book, in my opinion, was a very inspiring book.  The book follows the life of Leonard Bernstein.  As a young child, Leonard, nicknamed “Lenny” was very into music; he listened to it all the time.  The day things changed is when his Aunt Clara gave his family a piano.  For Lenny, it was “love at first sight.”  At a young age, Lenny decided that music was going to be a part of his life.

My favorite character would have to be Lenny because like him, I also want music to be part of my life.  My favorite part of the story would have to be when Lenny really started to learn piano and practice all the time.  Sometimes, the neighbors even complained.

I would rate this book as a 7.5/10 because although this is an inspiring story, there were no exciting parts.  There were also no parts that really stood out to me, it was just a very detailed timeline.

Personally, I would only recommend this book to people that love music.  If you do not have a very big interest, I would not recommend this book for you.
