A Small Free Kiss in the Dark by Glenda Millard is an amazing book about the challenges Skip and his good friend Billy must face and overcome to survive while homeless during a war. This book allows people to appreciate what they have as the book gives us a glimpse of the brutality of life when all you have is nothing. My favorite character in this book is Skip because even though he has no money and he’s just an innocent teenage boy, he still tries his best to live life to the fullest. My favorite part in this book was when Skip, Max and Billy were having the time of their lives on the beach. It just came to show that you can still enjoy life with your loved ones, even when money isn’t by your side. Regarding the heartfelt moments I had reading this book, I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars. Though this book could be best appreciated by teens, this book is great for all ages.
